Welcome to the Everyday Dar project!

We are four students on the MSc Urbanisation and Development programme at the London School of Economics  currently conducting fieldwork for our dissertations in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. While we are all researching distinct aspects of everyday life in Dar our areas of inquiry intersect and overlap with one another allowing for a multifaceted approach to studying the urban. Collectively our project is titled ‘Emerging Geographies of Everyday Life in a Changing Urban Context’ and our we aim to bring our separate studies together to work toward an understanding of how the urban space of Dar is shaped and navigated by the people who live and work in the city.

Throughout our fieldwork we will be updating our blog and and Tweeting from @EverdayDar
